Many of our Officers and Committee Chairs will be rolling off at the end of this year. During the December meeting (12/5) we will be voting for our new leadership. Any resident of Adair Park is eligible to run, though you must be a member in good standing by the time you step into your position (January 1, 2024).
Terms are two-years for Officers and one year for Committee Chairs. Everyone who is interested should submit an email to our current President, Michelle Marcus, at president@adairpark.com or self-nominate during the December (12/5) meeting. President
- Main point of contact for City and elected officials for the neighborhood
- Runs all general body meetings with Vice President (once per month)
- Runs all executive board meetings with Vice President (once per month)
Vice President
- Steps up when President is unavailable
- Helps run general body and executive committee meetings
Treasurer
- Handles payments from the organization
- Handles payments to the organization
- Provides monthly financial report to membership
- Keeps records and ensures we follow financial policy
Secretary
- Takes official minutes at each general body meeting
- Takes official minutes at each executive board meeting
- Ensures records are kept for the organization
- Answers member requests for records access
Communications Coordinator
- Develops monthly newsletters like this one!
- Ensures timely communication to neighbors about APT events, issues and meetings
- Manages adairpark.com and our social media accounts
Parliamentarian
- Ensures bylaws are followed for the organization
- Answers questions about procedure or protocol at meetings

Events Chair
- Point of contact for social events in Adair Park
- Chairs or Co-Chairs Porches & Pies (our fall festival)
- Ensures coordination of monthly Porch Parties for neighbors
Parks Committee Chair
- Point of contact for the four parks in Adair Park neighborhood (AP1, AP2, Bonnie Brae & Muscogee Park)
- Organizes community cleanups
- Organizes maintanence and upgrades to parks and greenspace in the neighborhood
Public Safety Chair
- Point of contact for safety concerns in Adair Park neighborhood
- Organizes actions to address safety concerns
- Works with City of Atlanta and other partners to increase safety
Historic Preservation and Land Use Committee
- Understand and report violations to Code Enforcement and the Historic Preservation Guidelines.
- Attend, when appropriate, Atlanta Urban Design Commission meetings.
- Organize coordinated responses to any pending or proposed zoning changes or developments affecting residents of Adair Park neighborhood
Senior Outreach Chair (ad-hoc committee)
- Point of contact for seniors in Adair Park neighborhood
- Coordinates access to needed resources and programs for seniors
- Surveys seniors to identify concerns
Transportation Committee (ad-hoc committee)
- Identifies key transportation issues and priorities for Adair Park
- Liaises with City of Atlanta government stakeholders on transportation issues
- Identifies and advocates transportation capital projects to benefit transit to, through, and near Adair Park
Note: All of these committees also need more members!
This is a great way to volunteer with folks who make our neighborhood an amazing place to live, work and play. It’s also great if you’re newer to the neighborhood to meet neighbors and get to know the community better. All are encouraged to run!
