Kroc Center Summer Day Camps!

Summer is upon us, it is getting warmer, and the Kroc Corps Community Center has a ton of affordable activities for the little ones in your home!

Theatre Day Camp, ages 7 – 12, June 20 – July 1
Camp Grandview Away Camp, July 5-9

Kickball in Adair Park I Sunday February 20th at 3pm

The weather is looking like it is going to be mighty fine this weekend! Take that opportunity and come to Adair Park I for some kickball on Sundasy, February 20th at 3pm. Last time we had people of all ages and skill levels, and had so much fun the score wasn’t even kept! There will be frisbee tossing, football throwing and ladder toss as well. Come down, enjoy the sunshine and have fun with your neighbors.

New restaurant in SW Atlanta from Chef Paul Luna?

You may or may not know Chef Paul Luna, but he has been a presence in Atlanta restaurants for years. From his first opening with Luna Si to the popular Eclipse de Luna and Loca Luna, he has been introducing new dishes to a multitude of Atlanta diners for quite some time. In 2010 he opened Lunacy Black Market on Mitchell Street to rave reviews.

This time, Chef Luna is eyeing a new location to the intersection of Sylvan Road and Dill Avenue in neighboring Capitol View. You can view the flyer for this venture here. He is hosting two meetings February 22nd from 12pm-2pm and from 6pm-8pm to talk to local residents about what they want out of their neighborhood businesses.

We need to do everything we can to support this venture in Capitol View, as hopefully this interest in Southwest Atlanta will carry over into Adair Park. Not to mention it is just a few blocks from our southern end. Please attend if you can and bring some neighbors to support Chef Luna and give him feedback about what we want to see business and restaurant wise in our local area!

Adair Park Meet-N-Greet This Saturday, February 19th!

It’s that time again folks! The Adair Park Meet-N-Greet express rolls over to Tift Avenue for a progressive party. Tift Avenue runs parallel to Metropolitan just 2 streets back and runs alongside the big Adair Park II. The party starts at 7pm and move houses at some point in the evening. The hosts ask you to BYOB, and they will have some snacks and wine provided. The weather is supposed to be beautiful, so this should be a great night to have this event! Bring a neighbor or two with you, meet some new neighbors, chat with the ones you know and have a good time. We hope to see you there!

Kroc Center Open House Starts This Weekend!

If you have not checked out the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, you really need to! It is just across Metropolitan from Adair Park, and is an absolutely beautiful facility. They have a workout area with many machines, an indoor running track, a lounge with games, indoor basketball court, classes, activies, nursery and much more.

This Saturday, and all next week is the perfect time to visit. They will feature free workshops, classes, activities, presentations and resource information about their services.
