MARTA to hold Public Hearings Tonight and Tomorrow

The Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority will hold public hearings covering budget for 2012 as well as service changes and fee increases for 2011. There are several places you may attend, and all of these hearings have a community exchange from 6-7pm with the hearing starting at 7pm.

May 16th – Atlanta – 141 Pryor Street, Fulton County Government Center
May 16th – South Fulton – 5600 Stonewall Tell Road, College Park, Service Center
May 17th – Dekalb – 1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur, Maloof Auditorium
May 17th – North Fulton – 7741 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, Service Center

Citizen Police Academy Enrollment Open Until February 25th!

MARTA’s Police Department will hold its 17th Citizen Police Academy beginning Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Enrollment for classes is free and will be held on Tuesdays from 6pm – 9pm, with one Saturday class for firearms.

Due to the sensitivity of the information presented, all applicants must be at least 21 years of age and willing to submit to a criminal history check.

In addition, the Police Youth Leadership Academy is March 5, 2011 from 9am to 3pm. Young people ages 12-16 can attend this free session to learn about MARTA Police basic law enforcement and techniques.
