May’s meet-n-greet is an ice cream social! This fun event will be held from 2-5pm at Dave and Sue’s house, 661 Catherine Street, in their beautiful backyard garden. There are at least 8-10 flavors of ice cream being made by neighbors, and we could always use more! If you feel like churning up a batch please feel free – the more the merrier. Utensils will be provided, BYOB. Bring your appetite and a few neighbors and we will see you there!
Bring your little ones to Adair Park I this Sunday April 8th at 1pm for Easter Egg coloring and an Easter egg hunt! We had so much fun last year with about 50 kids in attendance. Kids up to 12 are welcome to participate in the hunt, which will be split in age at 5.
Adair Park I is the park that borders Catherine Street, Mayland Avenue and Lexington Avenue.
If you want to donate, please contact Stacey Robertson at 770-864-6213 or by email at email@example.com. We need egg coloring kits, plastic eggs, candy, snacks, etc. Hope to see you there!
Here are a few photos from last year.
Adair Park’s own Beltline Bike Shop is doing a fundraiser on November 5th, and they need your donations! They are doing, what else, but a 50 mile bike ride. Adair Park neighbors Joel Haffey and John Sherwood are joining owner Tim O’Mara and other friends of the Bike Shop in this ride to raise funds for the Bike Shop. This is a great opportunity to give back to the kids in our community and give them a sense of pride in their community.
For more information about the Beltline Bike Shop, visit their website. For more information on the ride and how to donate, please visit this page. There is also a Facebook page for the event itself. Please join in and help out this worthy cause.
For the August meet-n-greet, we are going to have another kickball game! Melanie Higgins and Jay Melton are going to host this fun event on August 21st from 4-7pm. Sure, its going to be hot, but you can go home and shower afterwards. Last time we had a blast as people of all ages played kickball, bocce ball, cornhole, ladder toss and other fun games.
We will provide popsicles, some bottles of water and some watermelon. You can bring any other snacks or drinks you want. We will provide the games, you just need to show up ready to play or watch! Bring your neighbors and friends, it is going to be fun!
