Got old electronics? Who amongst us doesn’t as technology changes faster than you can say outdated-cellphone-laptop-tablet-gaming-system-dvd-player!
Georgia Natural Gas, Midtown Alliance, Novare Group and Eplanet/Ewaste are sponsoring an Earth Day event on Friday, April 26th from 8am to 2pm. They are hosting an electronics recycling push in the Biltmore Courtyard at 817 West Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30308.
They will accept a variety of electronics and you can register to win an Apple iPad mini! Please visit their website, www.gasguy.com/earthday for more information, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Come out and pitch in for Earth Day by helping to clear the planned urban garden at the corner of Allene Ave and Catherine Street. The Atlanta Beltline, Toolbank, Keep Atlanta Beautiful, Trees Atlanta and other organizations are rallying volunteers to clean this section which backs directly up to Lexington Avenue in Adair Park.
If you have not seen the recent Beltline blog post about the urban farm, read all about it here. This is going to be awesome!
For more information, check out the Earth Day Beltline Flyer. To sign up to volunteer, please visit the eventbrite volunteer site. We hope to see you there!
Keep Atlanta Beautiful and the Atlanta Beltline are organizing a cleanup in our backyard to celebrate Earth Day! Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 9am to noon they are going to be cleaning up the Adair Park section of the Beltline on Allene Avenue behind Lexington.
This is the old Harmon Brothers bus lot and was a wasteland of tires, trash and concrete. We are going to continue the work they have done cleaning it up, and with the help of other organizations like Trees Atlanta, Park Pride and the Toolbank, we will remove some of the invasive plants. All of this is moving towards the ultimate goal of an urban garden on that plot of land.
If you can help out, please go to their eventbrite site and sign up. Hope to see you there!
The first quarterly briefing for the Beltline is Thursday, March 31st from 6PM-8PM. The meeting will take place at AGL Resources at 10 Peachtree Place, #1000, Atlanta, GA 30319. This briefing will provide updates on transit, design and construction.
Also, Earth Day on the Atlanta Beltline is Saturday, April 16th. Come join your neighbors and others as they clean up this stretch of the Beltline known for illegal dumping. Visit this page for more information.
