BURNAWAY Magazine is hosting a public panel moderated by critic Cinque Hicks, discussing topics introduced by his series of editorials on Living Walls and the recent controversies over murals by street artists Roti and Hyuro. The conversation is open to the public and will begin at Poem 88 at 3PM, Saturday, February 9. White Provision Building, 1100 Howell Mill Road, Suite A04, Atlanta GA 30318
Featured speakers on the panel are Chris Appleton, executive director of WonderRoot; Alice Lovelace, poet and community-based author; David Stedman, educational outreach coordinator for Living Walls; and Lisa Tuttle, artist and administrator with the Fulton County Public Art Program.
This affects Adair Park as the mural on University Avenue, on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, raised some concerns on legality of the mural as well as the content of the mural, which led to it being painted over twice. First, illegally, then scrubbed clean, then painted over by G-DOT who owns the wall.
