On March 10, 2012, the Atlanta Police Department will conduct a four hour training program for safety awareness. This program will run from 9am-1pm and all participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
A good neighborhood watch is a sign of a strong community. Many people don’t know what to do or how to participate, so a program like this can help. We have a Facebook page and a “text tree”, but are always open to new ideas.
They will cover a wide variety of topics including:
- How To Build Your Community – Obtaining grants and resources.
- Refuse To Be A Victim – Safety tips & prevention.
- Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design – Sara Model, problem solving, reactive.
You must RSVP by Friday, March 2nd to secure your place. Call 404-546-5550 or email email@example.com to secure your spot.
Tuesday, February 7th at 7pm is the next Adair Park Todsay monthly community meeting. We will have special guests from Voter Education, SHINE weatherization program and Gideons mentoring program. We will also have the Atlanta Police Department, City Council and other officials speaking. Please grab a neighbor and join us to learn what is going on in your community.
The meeting is held at the Kroc Community Center at 967 Dewey Street, just across Metropolitan from Adair Park. Park in the back, go to the door on the right hand side and hit the buzzer. Tell them you are with Adair Park, and they will let you in. Hope to see you there!
Adair Park is hosting the January Neighborhood Planning Unit V (NPU-V) meeting on Monday, January 9th at 7pm. The meeting will take place at the Metropolitan Lofts at 675 Metropolitan Parkway. Come hear from representatives from the Atlanta Police Department, Atlanta Fire Department, Atlanta City Council, Georgia House of Representatives, Georgia State Sentate, the Community Prosecutor and other local civic officials.
NPU-V is made up of Adair Park, Mechanicsville, Pittsburgh, Peoplestown, Summerhill and Capitol Gateway. We hope to see you there!
Adair Park is now in Beat 301 instead of Beat 303 within the Atlanta Police Department. This means we are no longer in a zone with Pittsburgh, we are now with Capitol View and Capitol View Manor. The Police underwent the beat restructuring based on number of incidents. For more information, please visit www.atlantapd.org.

Join the men and women of the Atlanta Police Department, as well as many members of the greater Atlanta community, for “Atlanta’s Finest 5K Race.” This race will take place on Saturday, August 6th from 7:30am to 10am at Pemberton Place in Downtown Atlanta.
The Atlanta’s Finest 5K presents an ideal opportunity for community members to directly interact with the Atlanta Police Department as they race alongside our officers. Participants can also check out squad cars, motorcycles and the Mobile Command Unit. The family-friendly 5K also includes a children’s Gumshoe Dash and Gallop, along with activities such as face painting.
You can register for the race via this link. There is no race day registration. Everyone in Adair Park is encouraged to support the officers from Zone 3!
A new improved website has been launched by the Atlanta Police Department. New features include an interactive crime map, complete with the ability to select types of crimes and a date range to find out what is going on and where. There are also fairly up to date crime statistics, showing crimes in our zone versus the past two years. Crime alerts by zone are offered to keep residents up to date, and you can sign up to have them emailed to you as well. Last, there is contact information for the zone office as well as the Zone Commander.
