The next NPU-V meeting will be on Monday, February 14th at 7pm in Peoplestown at 30 Haygood Avenue. In this month’s meeting we will hear from not only the NPU-V officers, but each neighborhood in the NPU-V will have their report. In addition, there will be time for various city officials to speak including the Atlanta Police Department and the City Council. There are a few zoning requests and license review questions as well.
Please come out and join your neighbors from across South Atlanta including Mechanicsville, Peoplestown, Pittsburgh, Capitol Homes/Gateway and Summer Hill. For more information on NPU-V, visit their website.
The winter storm watch has passed, and its time to get back into the business at hand. Please join us for the Adair Park Today meeting at the Stewart Avenue Methodist Church. We get there around 6:30pm to chat with neighbors, and the meeting is from 7pm-8pm. Bring a neighbor! Dues for the year are only $12.
State Rep Kathy Ashe will be the featured speaker. We will also hear from representatives from the Atlanta Police Department, the Community Prosecutor, City Council and other organizations. We hope to see you there!
If you have not checked out the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, you really need to! It is just across Metropolitan from Adair Park, and is an absolutely beautiful facility. They have a workout area with many machines, an indoor running track, a lounge with games, indoor basketball court, classes, activies, nursery and much more.
This Saturday, and all next week is the perfect time to visit. They will feature free workshops, classes, activities, presentations and resource information about their services.
Fees to join are $10 per month for an individual and $20 per month for a household with a 3 month minimum term. Check out their website at http://kroccenteratlanta.org/ or visit their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/KrocCenter to get more information.
