A Decade-Plus Long Adair Park Tradition
Each September, Adair Park becomes Atlanta’s pie capital during our signature festival, Porches and Pies. For one glorious day, neighbors and visitors stroll tree-lined streets, listen to live music, shop local vendors, and of course—eat pie.
Now heading into its 11th year, the festival has grown into a celebration of hospitality, creativity, and flavor. Home bakers and pastry chefs compete in our legendary pie contest. Local artists and musicians add color and rhythm. Kids play. And the scent of cinnamon and butter fills the air (and if you’re participating in the pie-eating content or pie fight it might fill your face too).
It all started with a few neighbors sharing sweets on porches. Today, it’s a full-blown community tradition that draws thousands. But the heart remains the same: good food, good people, and good times on the block.
Porches and Pies is volunteer-run, neighbor-led, and powered by your energy. That includes our pie bakers, porch hosts, set-up crews, and sponsor teams. We also have a Kids Pie Zone, a history walk, and pie-themed art installations in the works. We invite you to volunteer by e-mailing events@adairpark.com or visit our Porches & Pies page to find out how you can register as a baker, vendor or sponsor this festival.
All proceeds go toward neighborhood programming and infrastructure.
