Hello Neighbors! The team working to renovate the playground in AP1 has posted the renderings from the groups that submitted proposals in the small covered bench area by the playground during the last few weeks. The feedback they got was very helpful, and it seems this is the general rendering people liked the best. It has a large playscape for big kids, a smaller one for toddlers, a swing set bay and some shade elements to keep the playscapes cooler. We are exploring color options to fit the AP colors if possible. If you have feedback or questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We can’t think of a better tour guide to showcase the stretch of Atlanta BeltLine that passes through Adair Park! Meet our neighbor Angel Luis Poventud in this fun tour of the the Westside Trail from University Ave. to the Lawton St. Bridge. Along the way, you’ll see the incredible art we enjoy every day & some of our Porches and Pies festival sponsors like Monday Night Garage, Golda Kombucha, and FiNCA TO FiLTER at Wild Heaven.
Adair Park Today is soliciting proposals for playground equipment for Adair Park I in Atlanta, Georgia. This project is for removal of non-functional and/or outdated playground equipment in the park and replacing it with engaging playground systems staying within the existing footprint of the current playground.
“My latest mural in Adair Park II called “The Jewel of ATL”. It is meant to christen the joy of play that is found in Adair Park. A place where the community creates and fosters nothing but a joyful energy throughout everyone that comes here.” – George F. Baker III (@gfb3)
SafeAuto gifted a mural in collaboration with local artist, George F. Baker III, to the Adair Park neighborhood in July 2021.
Mark your calendars and invite your neighbors! Adair Park is being gifted a mural by local artist George F. Baker III and SafeAuto. Join the artist and your neighbors for an afternoon of creativity and community. Come to Adair Park II on June 5th from noon to 2pm to see the mural in progress, and enjoy free food from La Bodega and music by Kebbi Williams. Find the event page on Facebook for latest updates.
The event is hosted by Muros, compliments of SafeAuto who have a mission to foster trust and keep communities safe. Their gift of this beautiful piece of art and community gathering represents and celebrates our collective values, beauty and compassion for one another.
Just bring a blanket or lawn chair and a neighbor to enjoy the day!
About the artist: This artist is a Nebraska-born, Detroit-grown, and Atlanta-raised creator. Using his instruments of design, illustration and production, he employs a playful spirit to engage the inner-child we all have. Currently, he is the Creative Director of Foster, a studio-collective striving to make people unafraid to play.
Do you like to see our neighborhood looking clean, tidy, and free of trash? You can help keep it that way by participating in a neighborhood cleanup event! Please see the event schedule for 2021 below, and watch our Facebook page for additional details.
The Adair Park parks committee is working with the city to (re-)establish a community garden in the neighborhood! A Community Garden Steering Committee has now been formed. If you want to be kept in the loop, please request to be added to the Community Garden Google Group (https://groups.google.com/u/1/g/adair-park-community-garden)
Hi Neighbors! After our packed meeting on Tuesday, Adair Park Today has several items to report on.
The most discussed vote of the meeting, regarding the accessory structure at Academy Lofts, passed 43 to 12 in favor of supporting the variance. There is an Urban Design Commission (UDC) meeting on February 10, 2021 at 4:00 pm – we expect this variance to be discussed there although it is not on the agenda document. Please view the agenda for virtual participation instructions.
We also want to make sure that everyone is up to date on membership. If you believe that you have a 2021 membership in Adair Park Today, please check our updated membership list to make sure your name appears correctly. If you are a business owner and not a property owner or resident, make sure that your membership appears under the business name. Contact email@example.com to address any issues.
