Meet the Artist – 7/9 in Bonnie Brae Park

Please stop by in Bonnie Brae Park on July 9th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM to say hello to Claire Collar, local artist, as she paints our playboxes! Claire is a former neighbor who lived a block from Bonnie Brae Park and was a resident of the artist community at Academy Lofts. Claire will also be sharing draft designs for the Park plaza which we will paint as a community on a future date.

About Claire:

Claire Collar earned a degree in Fine Arts from Georgia College, and currently lives in Atlanta GA. Her watercolor and acrylic landscapes serve as instants to reflect on exploration and humility. Her photography is centered in documenting her time in the food industry and the loving community that is behind it. With a background in Printmaking and Gallery Curating, her work is inspired by processes and techniques in these fields. More at: https://clairecollar.format.com/

Last Call for Sponsors – Adair Park I Playground!

We are beyond grateful to our amazing neighbors, donors, and sponsors (see below) for supporting the renovation of the playground in AP1! We are so close to finishing our fundraising for this project, so please make your final pledges or contributions by July 15th!

Based on our vendor, we expect to install the playground in September or October of this year. We will keep everyone updated – as we all know sometimes suppliers can be delayed and there is a labor shortage, so stay tuned!

If you would like to make a larger gift or pledge to the project, please email us at parks@adairpark.com.

Our friends at CreateATL have pledged up to $10,000 toward the playground *IF* three additional Adair Park small businesses contribute $2,500 each to the project. Thanks to La Bodega & J.Rich, we are almost there! We just need ONE MORE Adair Park Business to support at the $2,500 level to meet our goal.

If this is you, please email us today at parks@adairpark.com!

Thank You to Our Sponsors!

Adair Park I – Court Refresh Project

SCAD Serve has offered to renovate the tarmac in Adair Park I and reinstall a basketball court with mural at no cost to Adair Park. You can learn more about SCAD Serve here: https://scad.galaxydigital.com/

The 2022 Parks Survey indicated that the majority of respondents want the tarmac in Adair Park I to be remain, but to be used and not left empty. The plurality of respondents wanted the space returned to a basketball court.

At the June Adair Park Today meeting, members voted to approve the project as a concept, but to vote on final design during July meeting.

The designs presented below are from artist, Alex Waggoner, Atlanta-based muralist. Please indicate which design(s) you prefer via the survey. Please note this is *not a final vote*. Based on the recommendations received here, they will be presented at the July Adair Park Today meeting, scheduled for July 5, 2022. You can become a member to vote at that meeting, or re-up your membership here: https://adairpark.com/adair-park-today/

NOTE: The designs for Adair Park 2 will be shared separately once SCAD Serve submits them to APT.
